2020 Lincoln Aviator vs. Cadillac XT6 in Beckley, WV

It looks like two luxury name brands in the auto industry will be going head to head with their respective 2020 models - the 2020 Cadillac XT6 and the 2020 Lincoln Aviator. Both of these models will be all-new in the luxury three-row SUV segment. Of course, they are already attracting attention from reviewers interested in comparing everything they have to offer. Who comes out on top?

Let's take a look at the 2020 Cadillac XT6, which recently made its debut in Detroit at the North American International Auto Show. It takes its styling cues from the 2016 Escala concept, but underneath, it sits on the same platform as the GMC Acadia. There interior is said to be similar to the CT6 sedan and the current XT5. The engine, a 3.6-liter V6, can be found in most other SUVs and crossovers made by General Motors. Though a three-row crossover, the third row feels a bit cramped.

While the Cadillac XT6 may succeed by delivering a luxury SUV at an entry-level price point, the fact that this "all-new" vehicle lacks anything truly new puts it at a severe disadvantage. There are other crossovers on the market with similar features, and for those looking for a luxury crossover with all the bells and whistles (or, for that matter, chimes provided by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra), the 2020 Lincoln Aviator is the better choice.

Some features included as options with the 2020 Lincoln Aviator are, but certainly not limited to, a 28-speaker Revel® Ultima 3D premium audio system, 30-way adjustable Perfect Position Seats with Active Motion®, and Lincoln Co-Pilot360™ Plus with the latest driver-assist safety technologies. Did we mention the Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring hybrid model also churns out 600 lb-ft of torque and can drive short distances on electric-only power? You won't get that kind of power and efficiency with the Cadillac.

You can experience the new 2020 Lincoln Aviator when it arrives at Mountaineer Lincoln later this year. When you do, it'll become quite clear how much better Lincoln does the three-row SUV.
